Outrageous News!

This first bit of news got me fired up.  Ashley Payne, a Georgia school teacher was forced to resign over pictures of her with a glass of wine and the use of the word “bitch” on her Facebook page.  She claims that the page was set to private and is unsure how the school’s administrator even found out about it.  They origionally said it was the parent of a student that complained about the material, but has recently admitted that it was an anonymous e-mail that alerted them to it.   Now, on the other side of the isle, Randolph Forde, another Georgia teacher apparently solicited a student to kill another student after an altercation with the teacher.  Forde remains on administrative leave with pay pending a school board hearing.

So, apparently in Georgia, a teacher can solicit the murder of a student and still get paid, but they can’t privatly post pictures of them socializing without being forced to resign.  Rediculous, in my honest opinion!

On a lighter note, Vermont got the right idea!  State Rep. Fred Maslack has introduced a bill to register and tax NON-gun owners.  He has studied the Bill of Rights thoroughly and reads that the ‘militia’ phrase of the Second Amendment as not only affirming the right of the individual citizen to bear arms, but as a clear mandate to do so.  “Vermonters have a constitutional obligation to arm themselves so that they are capable of responding to ‘any situation that may arise’.”  And to all of you gun control advocates;

Vermont already boasts a high rate of gun ownership along with the least restrictive laws of any state – it’s currently the only state that allows a citizen to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. This combination of plenty of guns and few laws regulating them has resulted in a crime rate that is the third LOWEST in the nation.

Outrageous and Awesome!  Vacation in space!  The Barcelona based company claims that they will be ready for their first guests at The Galactic Suite Space Resort by 2012.  A 3 day stay will cost $4.4 million and during their stay, guests would see the sun rise 15 times a day and travel around the world every 80 minutes.  You also recieve an 8 week training course in the Carribean included in the price of the stay.  How awesome will that be.  I think I’ll have to wait till the Holiday Inn gets one up there before I can afford it!

Have a great weekend!
