Daily Right 10/26/09

*It Might Get Loud: The Redemption of Jimmy Page, by Matt Patterson.

*The GOP is doubling down on the pro-abortion, pro-stimulus, ACORN endorsed lefty they have nominated for NY23.

*Oh yeah.  Even CNN is using the term “malaise” when talking about President Obama.

*Irate and Independent, by Salena Zito.

*Lies That Are Disputed: The Left gets history wrong, by Conrad Black.

*Obama Heads to Oslo for Nobel, but Too Busy for Berlin Wall Ceremony, by Arthur Chrenkoff.

“The Cold War, whose successful and peaceful ending we will be celebrating soon, was as much the war of Truman, JFK, and Johnson as it was the war of Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan. For whatever reason Obama might not be interested in celebrating his country’s victory over communism, he’s giving a cold shoulder not just to the legacy of the dreaded conservative hawks, but also in large part to a proud tradition of his own party…

…That John F. Kennedy could go to Germany and be “a Berliner” told you all you needed to know about that Democratic administration. That Barack Obama won’t do so now sadly tells you all you need to know about the current one.”

*Obama a Tough Guy, At Least With Fox News, by Mark Steyn.

*Environmentalist aren’t even bothering to hide their true endgame anymore:

“So the richer a country gets, the more pressing the need for it to curb its population. The only nation to have taken steps to do this is China – and the way it went about enforcing the notorious one child policy is one of the reasons the rest of us are so horrified by the notion of state intervention. Yet China now has 300-400 million fewer people. It was certainly the most successful governmental attempt to preserve the world’s resources so far.”

That one word, yet, says all you need to know about this.  You have to read the whole thing to get the full flavor of self-loathing this writer serves up.

RELATED: Think Globally, Cull Locally, by Mark Steyn.

“The notion that the planet will be a much cleaner place left to the tender mercies of the Chinese pollutoburo, the new caliphate, and the exploding megalopolises of coastal Africa might strike many as somewhat fanciful.”

RELATED II: Climate Change, Is Democracy Enough, by David Shearman.

“Liberal democracy is sweet and addictive and indeed in the most extreme case, the USA, unbridled individual liberty overwhelms many of the collective needs of the citizens. The subject is almost sacrosanct and those who indulge in criticism are labeled as Marxists, socialists, fundamentalists and worse. These labels are used because alternatives to democracy cannot be perceived! Support for Western democracy is messianic as proselytised by a President leading a flawed democracy

There must be open minds to look critically at liberal democracy. Reform must involve the adoption of structures to act quickly regardless of some perceived liberties

We are going to have to look how authoritarian decisions based on consensus science can be implemented to contain greenhouse emissions.”

They don’t care about your liberty, at all.  The new ‘green’ elite will make all the decisions for you, but don’t worry, it’s for the planet.
