*President Obama’s approval rating falls below 50% for the first time. This is Rasmussen, so it’s likely voters, not just adults.
*Obama’s Path Not Taken, by Victor Davis Hanson.
“In 1968 a divided country elected Nixon “to bring us together” in the mistaken notion that he was a Reaganesque conservative rather than a vindictive partisan. So too forty years later, mutatis mutandis, the country wanted to go a notch left, and ended up instead with a European socialist nursed in the politics of Chicago—and like Nixon, unless he changes, doomed to implode.”
*Amazon apologizes outright for the Kindle mishap.
“This is an apology for the way we previously handled illegally sold copies of 1984 and other novels on Kindle. Our “solution” to the problem was stupid, thoughtless, and painfully out of line with our principles. It is wholly self-inflicted, and we deserve the criticism we’ve received. We will use the scar tissue from this painful mistake to help make better decisions going forward, ones that match our mission.”
I forgive you Jeff; I’ll even keep recommending the Kindle, which you, dear readers, can buy here. You’ll not regret it. I think I’m up to 3,000 titles already, a lot of them free, all of them cheap. Greatest invention for a writer/reader evah! And for all you nay saying Luddites who decry the end of the paper back book, you couldn’t be more wrong. My physical book purchases have increased since I bought the Kindle, much like my CD purchases increased when I bought my I-Pod.
God, I’m starting to sound like a 13-year-old girl going on about the Jonas Brothers.
Kindle.
Heh.

*Why ObamaCare is Sinking, by Charles “the Doc” Krauthammer.
“Didn’t Obama promise a new politics that puts people over special interests? Sure. And now he promises expanded, portable, secure, higher-quality medical care — at lower cost! The only thing he hasn’t promised is to extirpate evil from the human heart. That legislation will be introduced next week.”
*The Folly of ObamaCare, by Jonah Goldberg.
“Health care cannot be a right, because rights cannot come from government. At best, they can be protected by government.”
Preach it brother, preach it!
