*Let’s pray that this continues: Obama lacks the votes to nationalize healthcare.

*I don’t think the administration really understands the “creative destruction” aspect of capitalism.

“Dozens of US cities may have entire neighborhoods bulldozed as part of drastic “shrink to survive” proposals being considered by the Obama administration to tackle economic decline.”

*Obama scares Chuck Norris.

*I’ve heard this argument recently:

“It’s almost, a little bit, gallows politics,” said Mr. Panetta, a former Democratic House member from California. “When you read behind it, it’s almost as if he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point.”

Mr. Cheney has said in several interviews that he thinks Mr. Obama is making the United States less safe, remarks Mr. Panetta called “dangerous politics.”

By this argument, if a person lights a candle and then places it on top of a pile of newspapers and underneath the curtains, it is the person who points out the danger of the situation who is responsible for the fire that is sure to come.  Or, before that fire materializes, wishes that the house lights on fire just to prove their point.  Unbelievable.  (H/T Ace)

*Nearer, My God: The Deity in the White House

“Religious tradition tells us that God created man in His image, but the press has created this God in its image–diverse, multilateral, and non-confrontational. He is cool, hip, urbane, and extremely un-Texan. He is all that the Fourth Estate values in life, and aspires to be in its own private dealings. He is all it holds dear.”

*Conservatism and the University Curriculum: If they can find time for feminist theory, they can find time for Edmund Burke, by Peter Berkowitz.
