I have not done in depth research, but if you contrast Pres. Obama's general approval rating with polls specifically aimed at aspects of the administration's policy, you'll find some drastic differences. In my gut, I feel that the election was more of an "electoral tantrum", as you call it, and honestly believe there were large numbers of people who voted for Obama primarily so they could tell their grandkids they were part of history. They WANT to like Obama and be supportive of him, but when pressed, the majority of people are not happy with the way things are headed. We're still barely into his first term- it'll be interesting to see how things play out...

One cannot totally believe every poll that comes along as to the percentage it claims to post as the truth of public opinion. However; it wouldn't suprise me, after many decades of tireless effort from the left, spreading their lies of seperation of church and state, prayer in schools, pro-choice, and the cancerous tumor left from the original meaning of the first amendment, the freedom of speech, negligent of the responsibility of self-discipline of searching for and knowing the truth before speaking, including but not limited to the writer as well as the speaker.
"In a April 27 editorial, Stanislav Mishin wrote: “the American descent into Marxism is happening with breathtaking speed.” Indeed." I for one am with Patrick Henry when He said "Give me Liberty or give me death."
