Why the hell isn't GM allowed to file Chapter 11? Because it would force them to renegociate the contract they have with the UAW and the UAW would surely lose the current stranglehold they have on the American automoble companies. Now, coupled with the government's current adgenda to socialize the banking industry, housing industry and automobile industry, we have a proposal for the UAW to get 40% ownership in GM and the government to control a majority share. And they can't understand why the bondholders are angry. What a joke. The war on capitalism rages on!
